Sign Up for a Library Card
All residents may join the library free of charge with proof of residency and a special limited membership is available to people with no fixed address.
Members of other BC libraries may be eligible for a BC OneCard, which would give them borrowing privileges at Squamish Public Library.
Non-residents who aren’t eligible for a BC OneCard may purchase a temporary library card for a period of up to one year for a fee:
Library card holders’ rights and responsibilities
You are responsible for all the materials borrowed on your card and for payment of any charges on items that are overdue, lost or damaged at all libraries at which the card is registered. (See Loan Periods and Fines for details). Your library card provides access to licensed databases from outside the library. You may also look at our catalogue from home over the Internet, and access your account to place holds, keep lists and renew items.
Lost or stolen cards
If you lose your library card, you are responsible for any items checked out on your card. You must report it as lost immediately and we will block the card so that no one can use it. There is a small charge to replace a lost card.
Change of address, email or password
It is important for us to have your current information. If you change your address, email or other personal information, please contact the library and we’ll update your record. To change your PIN number, log in to your account, click on the "Account Preferences" tab, and change your password. We do not recommend that patrons use a 4 digit number as their password. 4 digit numbers should only be used for temporary passwords and should be changed to something more secure after the account is created.
